Meet Dr. Mullenaux
Dr. Mullenaux was born and raised in southern Arizona on his family’s farm where he enjoyed hard work and lots of Arizona sun working cotton and raising cattle. He obtained a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from Arizona State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
He then attended the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health where he actively served in multiple programs dedicated to providing dental services to children throughout school. He served as President of the Pediatric Dental Study Club as well as Co-Chairman of the University’s ‘Give Kids a Smile’ committee during his fourth year. Driven by passion and through the efforts of hard work he was awarded the E. Bud Tarrsons grant which provided $5000 for the treatment of underserved children in the surrounding area. Upon graduating, Dr. Mullenaux was presented with the Sally Rosenthal Tor Scholarship for excellence in pediatric dentistry. After receiving his DMD he and his family travelled to Washington state to attend NYU Langone’s Pediatric Dental Residency Program in Yakima, Washington. There he learned skills and gained experience needed to better treat and serve infants, children, children with disabilities, and teens. He was honored to serve as Chief Resident during his second year. He loved each of these experiences and the knowledge and skills he gained in each have been invaluable.
Dr. Mullenaux truly enjoys working with children and more importantly, learning from them. Growing up, Dr. Mullenaux was blessed with the privilege of being a twin. His twin brother taught him to love life and find joy in it even while suffering from both mental and physical disabilities resulting from birth trauma. It was growing up with him that Dr. Mullenaux learned to see and love the greatness of those with disabilities. His goal is to offer children with disabilities, and all children, the greatest and most comfortable care he can. Dr. Mullenaux loves continuing to learn about the field of pediatric dentistry and improving his skill set through continuing education.
Dr. Mullenaux and his wife, Dustynn, have four very active and fun-filled children who make life enjoyable and keep them both in good shape! As a family, they love being outdoors, making friends, and serving in their church and in the community around them. Some of Dr. Mullenaux’s favorite hobbies include: woodworking, camping, gardening, and his favorite time is that spent with his wife and children, family, and friends. Dr. Mullenaux is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Kansas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
