Meet Dr. Shan

Dr. Shan Ao is a second-generation dentist; who earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Ao graduated with honors in advanced Endodontic and Periodontal studies. She was nominated to receive the American Association of Endodontists Student Achievement Award in Endodontics.

Dr. Ao’s mission is to establish a stress-free environment where she strives to provide excellent care to her patients and ensure all patients have a positive experience. She has a passion for cosmetic dentistry, where she could help patients boost their confidence by restoring their smiles. Dr. Ao has a dedication to giving back to the community by volunteering and joining mission trips locally and internationally.

Dr. Ao is originally from a small town in the northeast of China, where she was born and raised. Both Dr. Ao and her brother decided to follow in their mom’s footsteps to pursue a career in dentistry at a very young age. She moved to Wichita, Kansas seeking higher education in 2009; later completed her doctoral studies at UMKC.

During her spare time, she enjoys trying new cuisines, exploring outdoor activities, and traveling with her fiance Kevin. They enjoy taking their two fur babies to dog parks and going on hikes.
